Strawberry Kiwi Smoothie

Image

Strawberry season is here! I’ve been receiving an overwhelming amount of strawberries in my weekly CSA, so it’s time to start thinking of creative ways to use them. Unless of course, you enjoy eating raw strawberries for every meal of the day. Thankfully, there are many uses for strawberries, so very minimal effort is needed to find alternative uses for these little red berries. This smoothie contains about 1 cup of fresh strawberries per glass. Now i just need to figure out what to do with the kohlrabi I received this week…

Strawberry Kiwi Smoothie

  • 1 Cup fresh strawberries
  • 1/4 Cup frozen strawberries
  • 3-4 Ice cubes
  • 1 1/2 Organic Kiwis
  • 1 Tbsp agave nectar
  • 1/2 Cup orange juice
  • Basil (optional)

Rinse strawberries, slice off tops. Cut kiwis in half, and scoop out their insides with a spoon. Add everything to a blender, and blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, then add a little more OJ. Enjoy!

wow!! The colour of this smoothie is just to die for!! Definitely going to try making this over the weekend, I love kiwis, and for some reason I haven’t tried basil in a smoothie yet, super idea!
How did you find the taste of OJ in it? I usually find OJ a bit overpowering so i tend to use coconut water or apple juice!

    1. Hi Olivia! I’m sure coconut water or apple juice would taste fine with this smoothie. Ive used coconut water plenty of times in smoothie recipes, and it’s never a bad decision. The OJ will make it a little more tart, so it you want something sweeter, then I suggest to substitute the juice.
